Meet the Derm In-Review Advisory Council (DIRAC)
The Derm In-Review Advisory Council is led by Dr. Adam Friedman, Professor, Residency Program Director, and Chair of Dermatology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Dr. Steven Daveluy, Professor and Program Director at Wayne State Dermatology. Known for their forward-thinking approach to dermatology education and their desire to support the next generation of dermatologists, Drs. Friedman and Daveluy are constantly spearheading innovative ways to increase emphasis on educational outcomes and serve as exemplary role models for dermatology residents.
With Drs. Friedman’s and Daveluy’s guidance, Derm In-Review Advisory Council members help evaluate and choose content for our study tools and resources to reflect the most robust and up-to-date content all dermatology residents should know. Furthermore, DIRAC members are offered career development opportunities through other Derm In-Review media partners including Next Steps in Derm, the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology (JDD), the Skin of Color Update, and the ODAC conference. Examples of these additional career development opportunities are:
*Onsite correspondent role at MedscapeLIVE! conferences including but not limited to Skin of Color Update, ODAC, and Pigmentary Disorders Exchange Symposium
*Paid medical writer assignments for Derm In-Review’s mentoring site Next Steps in Derm
*Direct access to renowned thought leaders in the field to conduct interviews on trending dermatology topics
*Participate in resident-focused sessions at the Skin of Color Update and ODAC conferences
*Priority acceptance for Resident Scholarships at MedcapeLIVE! conferences
All DIRAC members receive recognition and credit in all Derm In-Review publications and sponsored events and are welcome to cite their contributions in their CVs.
